                       Zero Point, also known as Yumesamdong, is a picturesque destination located in North Sikkim, India. It is one of the highest motorable points in the state and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and snow-capped peaks.     Zero Point is situated at an altitude of about 15,300 feet (4,663 meters) above sea level. It is near the international border between
    India and China, and it is one of the highest motorable roads in the region. The journey to Zero Point is an adventure in itself, passing through picturesque landscapes, dense forests, and high mountain passes.
  2. Accessibility:

    • The journey to Zero Point involves a drive through challenging terrains and scenic landscapes. The route usually starts from Lachung, and the road conditions can be difficult, especially during the winter months when it might be covered with snow.
    • Due to its high altitude, visitors may experience altitude sickness, so it’s important to acclimatize properly and take necessary precautions.
  3. Scenic Beauty:

    • The main attraction of Zero Point is the stunning panoramic views it offers. Visitors can witness snow-clad mountains, including the peaks of the Himalayas.

      Zero Point is known for its breathtaking landscapes, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, alpine meadows, and a blanket of snow. The place gets its name because it is the last point on the road that civilians are allowed to travel to; beyond this point,
      the area is controlled by the military due to its proximity to the international border.

    The best time to visit Zero Point is during the summer months, from April to June, when the weather is relatively pleasant. During this time, the region experiences clear skies and the snow starts to melt, revealing the stunning landscapes. However, if you are a fan of snowfall and winter sports, visiting during the winter months (November to February) is also an option, but the weather can be extremely cold and
    the roads might be challenging.

    • It’s advisable to check the weather conditions and road status before planning a trip to Zero Point, especially during the winter season.
    • Warm clothing and sturdy footwear are essential, given the cold temperatures and rough terrains.
